There’s no question that the meeting between Trump, JD Vance and President Zelenskyy last week was a horrifying event.
Zelenskyy was blindsided like Bobby McCain, who was knocked out by an illegal tackle from Packer Equanimeous St. Brown in 2018:
Although Zelenskyy remained upright, I’m certain that Vance would have loved to have finished the job but to what end? He’s already achieved celebrity status (although it’s as the World’s Biggest Asshole) so really, how much more fame does he need?
Although neither Trump nor Vance has every played football (clearly Trump’s never handled anything more indelicate than a golf club), it looks like the art of the blindside tackle was an organic tool for them both as they shamefully berated President Zelenskyy and embarrassed the United States. I sincerely hope that President Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine understand that there is an enormous part of this country that does not support Trump, his goal of running this country like an oligarchy and - most critically - his fondest obsession, an alliance with Putin who - as the great Kamala Harris once put it - will "eat him for lunch".
Every time it seems that this Administration can’t make things worse, the bar moves just half an inch or so lower. So much irreparable damage has been done, it would be discouraging if there weren’t enough furious Americans (like me). What you can do:
Join INDIVISIBLE. Find you local chapter and see what other local groups you can connect with.
